Since Hestin the 3rd’s creation he has tireless served the royal family.

Behind the Character

Hestin's theme song is All Hail Britannia (from Code Geass).

Hestin's design was inspired by the Arthurian legends style and a bit of Code Geass (the portrayal of the Britannians).

Plot Spoiler

In Chaos Advent, it would have been revealed that Hestin was actually a traitor. He had been feeding information to the mavericks to help them. Other things he had done included:

  • planting the bomb in the Hunter HQ base. He smuggled plastic explosives into the base disguised as teacups from home.
  • feigning taking down a maverick ship so it could sneak ahead and destroy Giga City before the Hunters got there. (Though this wasn't necessary given that the rookie team disobeyed an order and pursued the maverick Soar Squirrel instead of finishing off the maverick attack force.)
  • telling Shock Scorpion to mention Junas's past (since Shock Scorpion wouldn't have known otherwise).
  • helping Tidal Tortoise to locate where the hunters were when they were investigating the base (and had planned to use one abandoned base as a decoy for the others. Except the Hunters discovered them anyway.)

Though at first it wasn't actually set to be any one of the 4 (Hestin, Solo, Vasas or Junas) and each of them had their own reasons why it could have been them. It was supposed to be a case where the players decided who the traitor was based on the evidence.

Hestin, as a traitor though, worked particularly well as a dark twist to the Arthurian legend style character who always does the right thing. A fallen knight in gold armor.
