The Submarine Mercenaries are a mercenary group, founded by the Reploid Submarine.

Although they are unaffiliated with the Maverick Hunters, are occasionally contracted by them to help out in times of crisis. The majority of the time they work freelance for whomever can hire them, but Sub always makes time to help his city, even if they can't pay.

The mercenary team is made up of a diverse group of reploids, few of which have any sort of training or military background. Sub has recruited each of them individually, for reasons best known to him, but all of them seem to be a reject of some group or have an otherwise troubled past.

The Submarine Mercenary Headquarters is a simple office building, not far from the Maverick Hunter's own headquarters. The office is simply a front however, containing a transporter to the actual base of operations, which include housing for the mercenaries, a training facility, and Sub's personal armory. Admission to the secret base is by entry only. While the Submarine Mercenaries are a force for good, their methods are not always legal, and best kept off the Hunter's radar.

Relations with the Maverick Hunters have not always been good. Although they fight for the same cause, Sub's nature is to be rebellious and mistrustful, and each time the Hunters try to assert authority over the group one of Sub's siblings has to smooth things over. Despite not having been around for such notable events as the Repliforce uprising, Sub harbors a grudge toward Hunter leadership, believing they look down on similar groups, forcing them to submit to Hunter rule or be destroyed. On more than one occasion, the Submarine Mercenaries were branded Mavericks, but Tank and Jet were always on hand to de-escalate the situation.

The Submarine Mercenaries are:

Submarine, Ganye, Whauler, Chip, Lunchbox, and Zigs

After his activation Jet served briefly with the Submarine Mercenaries, learning to fight as a unit and most importantly, how to survive. Over time, Tank convinced Sub to let Jet enlist with the Hunters, becoming one of only a handful to survive long enough to become a full Hunter. Sub was always close by however, coming to Jet's and the city's aid on two occasions where the Hunters were shorthanded.

Rushing in headlong to help however would be the downfall of the Submarine Mercenaries, as they were all killed in action during a maverick uprising sometime before the events of Attention Rookies 2.
