World Senate

Created to be a truly neutral territory for leaders of the world to come to debate/discuss all issues.

The platform is rather large with a full courtyard out front and a landing pad for teleporting or aircraft (to deliver goods/people).

The World Senate Building itself is a large old-fashioned looking building with marble pillars out front. Much like classic Greek-Roman styled buildings. The marble is covered in some decorative ivy for looks. Though on top they have hundreds of solar panels used to collect energy to help power the facility.

Inside the building there is a massive amphitheatre that is used primarily for conducting all the large meetings. There are also numerous offices, one for each head of a country, to use for private matters. Like if they need to contact their home country while they're aboard the platform. Adjoining the senate building they also have a massive hotel-suite like section for housing: all the staff of the facility, the world leaders when they're staying and all the security personnel.

They have a large food court for handling meals. And an athletic facility for keeping in shape.

Underneath the courtyard and buildings are the maintenance and engineering sections. They have a massive nuclear reactor system that provides power to the flight systems and all the other necessary components.

The platform does have some weapon systems for external use… But they are relatively draining so they cannot be used for long. Instead they depend on their internal security team and other external ones like the Hunters.

The location of the World Senate varies because the building is built on a floating platform that can be flown around the world. It's location is typically kept secret to prevent it from falling under maverick attack.

Though there have been a few times it's location has been let slip by a government official who was bribed or through other means…

Planning for the World Senate Building began in 2138. However after 2 years of going through designs, contacting engineers and working through the details their plans were interrupted by the Space Colony Eurasia which fell. It would be another several years before the Earth was cleaned up enough for them to return and resume planning.

Planning resumed in 2165 and when Humans were able to return to the surface they began to go to work on building this. Though they were slowed down due to the clean up of the environment still ongoing (thus diverting forces they otherwise would have used to help build the platform). And about the same time plans to colonize the moon started happening, including the construction of the Orbital Elevators. This had the effect of ceasing production on the floating platform idea (why build a floating platform if they were planning to move to the Moon anyway?).

However in 2175 when the Jacob's Elevator incident occurred, plans to colonize the Moon slowed down and they diverted more focus towards making Earth more stable. Thus the plans to create the floating platform were reworked and the project resumed. By this time however Giga City was also under construction and had been attacked. (Again, diverting forces from this to aid Giga City.)

Then, three years after Giga City was completed, in 2195 the floating platform was also completed.
