Dr. Cain

Dr. Cain is an elderly man that has a large beard and mustache, but is completely bald.

He often wears a blue robe with red trim. On the sleeves at the wrist is a red and green oscillating pattern. He has a yellow sash that he has tied at his waist, though some still hangs down. He wears white boots.

Personality: Dr. Cain was extremely intelligent, able to understand large sections of advanced robotics (of X's design) despite not being a master in that field. Though he could be somewhat reckless when he becomes excited (like when he discovered X and when he began mass producing reploids). He is also a very caring person and tries to ensure that no one is injured due to his actions.

History: Dr. Cain was originally an archaeologist that was searching for relics of the past. During a routine dig in one area though he discovered the lost lab of Dr. Light. Inside the lab he discovered a capsule that contained the late doctor's final creation… Megaman X. Despite the danger (and the warning left by Dr. Light), he activated X.

Dr. Cain soon became astounded by X and quit archaeology to study the recently awakened X. Soon after Dr. Cain developed his first prototype android based on X. Dubbed a reploid (REPLicate AndrOID) the test was considered a success. Within a few short years, reploids began to roll off the assembly lines.

But things soon took a dark turn. Reploids, having the power of choice and free will, soon began to rebel and defy laws. And given that these incidents were difficult for the authorities to handle, Dr. Cain knew he had to do something about the creations he had unleashed on the world. Dr. Cain created the Maverick Hunters to deal with these threats. He lead the hunters for a time, but he eventually retired and passed the job to Signas.
